Minifigures Spotlight & Final Review: LEGO One Piece 75636 – Windmill Village Hut

With the Windmill Village Hut fully built, it’s time to turn our focus to the minifigures. This set includes three key characters that capture Luffy’s early story — his life in Windmill Village at Makino’s Partys Bar, his early encounters with his hero Shanks, and the beginnings of his dream to become the King of the Pirates.

Young Luffy

Young Luffy comes in his classic white top with the anchor motif we’ve seen in the Netflix series. LEGO has included two styling options for his face — a happy expression and a crying one — allowing for flexible storytelling. The set also includes a small buildable Gum Gum Fruit that Luffy can hold and “eat,” adding an extra playful, interactive element.

Makino

Makino, the owner of the Partys Bar, is a welcome addition to the set. She plays an important role in Luffy’s early life and adds warmth to the scene. She comes with two happy face options, giving subtle variation while keeping her cheerful personality intact.

Shanks

And finally, Shanks, our favourite minifigure of the set. He comes with two styling options — one with his straw hat and underlying hair and a second with full hair. The inclusion of his customary black cape allows for creative play with his lost arm, and LEGO has also included a second straw hat without underlying hair to help with scene-building. His face includes all the details fans will recognize, from his famous scar to a light stubble, with two expressions — his signature chilled grin and the famous Haki face. Shanks also comes with his sword, Gryphon — while it doesn’t have any specific detailing, it’s still a fitting accessory. Altogether, he captures the essence of his character beautifully.

Other Accessories

The set also includes a small rowing boat — a playful nod to the iconic scene where Shanks saves Luffy (and loses his arm) — which also fits nicely alongside the pier. While we don’t get a Sea King to recreate the full moment, hey, what can one expect from a 299-piece set that’s already kept us busy across three blog posts!

Final Rating

After exploring every piece, we can confidently rate this set 5 out of 5 Straw Hats.

The final build is visually appealing, the minifigure details — especially Shanks — stand out, and the overall product brings Luffy’s early story to life beautifully. LEGO.com currently shows a 4.7/5 rating from 9 reviews at the time of writing, and it’s easy to see why.

What’s Next

Stay tuned! We’ll revisit the Windmill Village Hut in future posts to show scenes and setups you can recreate. But next time, we’ll move on to our first look at the second set in the LEGO One Piece series — the Buggy the Clown’s Circus Tent.
